GOLDEN ARROW'S JOURNEY TO THE GREAT DORSET STEAM FAIR 2004
Weighing in at 180 tons the Battle of Britain Class Engine ‘Squadron’ 257 was the largest and heaviest individual exhibit to ever have attended the Great Dorset Steam Fair. It was loaded and collected from it’s base at the Swanage Railway - when a sudden change of the weather turned the delivery into a two day struggle with rain and sodden fields. Five wonderfully sunny days rewarded all these efforts - the engine being one of the Star attractions of 2004!
