HEAVY HAULAGE MAGIC at THE GREAT DORSET STEAM FAIR 1986 - 1991
Through swirling dust clouds, belching smoke and sparks flying, roar trains of huge road engines hauling loads of granite up a steep hill; oil blackened men crouch in the glow of open fireboxes shovelling coal, wrestling with steering wheels and brakes, whooping with delight. Haunting whistles drift across the countryside from distant engines - that's Heavy Haulage at the Great Dorset. Some rare footage of engines on the road; Dr Busker and his "skiffle band"- the "Gang at play"; the railway trip; the late Steve Neville with the three Maclarens; at the end - the engines in the Saturdaynight Fairground.
