THE GREAT DORSET STEAM FAIR 1996
It opens (and closes) showing everyone involved in running this great enterprise at their annual meeting at Sturminster Hall where charities receive their donations. Over a pint and a bite to eat the show is chewed over, experiences shared and suggestions passed on . No complaints about the weather - it was just fine. Quite a few shots of engines etc heading forthe show, glimpses of Dorset etc. Historically the most interesting entry was the replica of Richard Trevithick's Steam Carriage - the first Motorcar ever. The mineature Steam engines had a excellent display. The Pickford Diamond T's are hauling their Pickford trailer up the Hill, the Showmans Engines are shown individually in their famous Line up, the fairground at night is shown from the top of the bunjee jump.The special theme: The Fowlers of Leeds - about 120 of them !
