A remarkable collection of thirty very rare steam cars ranging in age from 1896 to 1924 assembled at Alton in Hampshire for the Great Britain Club's 98 meeting.  Some were sole survivers of early, long forgotton makers; some pristine restorations of originals; others brilliant, individually built replicas of famous former cars; as well as one totally original project well towards completion. Five days of fun were spent touring Hampshire, Sussex and Surrey with all the excitement of travelling with ancient vehicles in present traffic. Add the needs and shortcomings of one hundred year old technology and things can occoasionally turn hairy!
